just moved to asheville. left behind in NW NJ a beautiful woodlands garden i had opened to public to help fundraise for Sussex County Arts& Heritage Council. want to get involved in local gardening and meet people who 'do it in the dirt'.
i also lecture on gardens ex:gardening monet style or gardens of italy, ireland, france.
Favorite Plants:
hellebores, shooting stars, japanese jack in pulpit, peonies, hosta, german bearded iris, siberean iris, balloon flowers, blue cardinal flowers, missouri primroses, gogi berries and schizandra.

I am new here myself, but the Arboretum on Haywood (191) has a lot to show us as to what does well here.  My favorite nursery to go to is BB Barnes.  They are expensive, but can give you good ideas.  I can hardly wait for spring!  I am planning on getting into Irises in a big way - if you plant the different varieties you have blooms for 3 months
