Welcome to the conversation, Steve. It's great to have such an enthusiastic voice on GardenAsheville. I might refer you, however to the instructions for blogging. Please read them when you get a sec. The forum is for posts on questions and answering other questions, for the most part. You have a blog function on your home page. I moderate the site and can pull blog posts to the front of the site, which I am happy to do. I need more bloggers! So welcome aboard.

You have a lot of favorite plants, Steve. How much land do you have to grow it on?

Oh my! We live on a 0.21 acre parcel in Montford (including our little bungalow!). I garden just about every square inch of it.

Oh my! You must be very talented to garden in that small spot. Do you have full sun? I am hampered by abundant shade.

Thanks for your kind remark! I have every level of sun/shade. Abundant shade is a problem if you want to grow vegetables, but a blessing if your interest is in wildflowers!

Hey Steve, Check out the video I posted this morning, Homegrown Revolution. I think this is where we all need to be headed.

About Me:
When I'm not fighting the evils of musical malfunctions as my alter ego, StereoMan, I am almost always either in my garden or at my computer. And when I'm at my computer, I like to read about, and talk about, gardening!
Website:

Favorite Plants:
Elephant Ear Caladiums; mallows, especially Roses of Sharon; daturas, especially Angel's Trumpets; lilies, especially Turk's Caps; flowers that smells rank, such as Dutchman's Pipe, Carrion Flower; anything that is deadly poison, such as false hellebore or belladonna. Favorite tree is the tulip poplar. Among vegetables, tomatoes are my favorite for most return on least investment, corn is the best tasting before it gets in the back door, and eggplants are the sexiest.
Garden as a hobby?
Yes
