Mid-May Garden

This has been a glorious spring for Asheville gardens with so much in bloom we'll probably get spoiled down the line. But for now it's all really great.

And here's a close-up of a tulip poplar bloom that blew from my tree in the earlier wind storm.

---and my garden Buddha patiently waits for…

The Yellow Rose of Asheville

The past week has seen the blossoming of the Lady Banks rose, unlike any seen in the recent past. I can never remember so many flowers and the bush in my lower garden is bending under the weight of these blooms. Perhaps one of the reasons for success can be traced to the current drought because this rose can withstand long periods of diminished rainfall.

I look forward to reading the new articles. We need to get together sometime. I still have your copy of Peeping Tom that I need to return, and it would be good to catch up.

Speaking of Michael Powell, I had a chance to watch The Red Shoes with my twin 5 yr old girls the other day. It was wonderful to see it again, and my kids were enthralled!

Cheers,
Michael

Hey Peter, they are keeping a couple of your titles at the new Barnes & Noble. Three to be sure. Thought you might like to know.
