I've been "in the garden" since I was a little girl and my Dad had me helping him with his vegetable garden every summer. I think then I mostly loved digging new potatoes and walking with my boots on in the deep, spring mud! Today I still love to plant vegetables, but spend most of my time developing new flower and herb gardens. I love to get ideas from other people's gardens; I always envy those with neat, orderly gardens as mine tend to be somewhat random and headstrong!
Hi Nancy, as site moderator I wanted to address your comment that you're not sure about the purpose of this web site. It is a social network for WNC gardeners, a place to share information, post gardening questions and interact with other gardeners. It's also set up as a local gardening resource with links to garden-related businesses and organizations, such as the N.C. Arboretum.
Thanks so much for giving me some more info about this website. I actually love the idea of local gardeners talking with each other online. My neighbors and friends and I share our gardening experiences...and divide and share plants, too! As summer begins to look pretty driy...again...I think most of my planting and dividing is over as hate to use too much water to establish new plants.

And you have to do something about that awful picture of you that is on display! Hmmm - looks a little bit like me!
A "headstrong" garden??
Mike

Won't see you in church Sunday
but soon I hope.

Again, thanks for the reply! Nancy
