About Me:
Working on establishing garden beds, paths, and dry stack walls on our lot on Dry Ridge in North Asheville where we are building a house.
Favorite Plants:
helleborus, soloman's seal, hostas, pulmonaria, wild wood hycinths, spurge plants?, Japanese maples, coral bells, ferns, sedums, daylilies, oak leaf hydrangeas, mountain laurels, but my very favorite plant is bleeding hearts.I am a trail runner because its easier on my old body but I also get to enjoy our native plants on a daily basis. We have a lot of wild flowers on our property at Dry Ridge which I love.

Ha Ha--that's funny....My husband tells everyone that I married him so he can tote around my plant containers. When I was in the processes of retiring from the Air Force, we sold our house and moved into a 3rd floor apartment in OKC, OK. We moved 50+ potted containers--I still get reminded of it.

I noted your love of native plants--I have a lot on our property too.

I am a dog lover and I'm wondering what kind of dogs those are in your picture--I'm stumped! Dawn

We have not tried asparagus yet but we should, we both love it! You should wait a week or two to plant the tomatoes just to make sure there is no sneak attack from old Jack Frost. I have some planted now, but will have to cover them this evening as there is a chance for freezing over night. It can be a bit tricky the next couple of weeks so just be ready to cover them on short notice, and remember that you will need to put supports in place to keep the cover from touching the plants.

Thanks Judi! The back part of my property is a hayfield so after the first cut each year I take my mower out and make a little yard art for my wife. You can see it from any window on the back side of our house, and neighbors get a nice peek driving by!

Judi,
As of last week, there was still space, so go ahead and sign up. Look forward to seeing you!

Hi Judi,

It was taken in the Chinese Gardens in Sydney. I must say that group of photos came out good enough to enter in a contest. It was a beautiful day too.

Judi,
Thanks for the comments about the Fine Gardening container contest last year. I love containers also, and also many of the same plants that you do. I would love to see your garden, and would like for you to see mine as well. Sounds like you have done a lot of work!

Thanks Judi! Your husband sounds like a wise man :)! I grew up on a farm in SC, so it is a must for me to at least have a garden. Hopefully the weather will cooperate a little better than last year!

Thank you! I'm not sure. To be honest, I think I got it off of Webshots.
