I would grow blackberry over blueberries, especially as you are a beginning gardener. There are lots of thornless blackberries now and they are easy to grow and bear well. With blueberries, you need many bushes that may or may not survive and they won't bear all that well for a few years. I haven't gotten out to look at my blackberries all that much yet, but they often make "babies." I'd be happy to give you a start of them. Stay tuned on that one, OK?
