Garden Asheville

Any one have a natural slug bait recipe? With all the rain we've received this spring my garden is infested with slugs. They have just about eaten all of the leaves on the bell peppers, lettuce and basil.

Some people will save their cut hair to place around the plants, sharp pieces of small rock/sand will deter them, making your yard a habitat for birds and other animals will help to control them and monitoring your plants--especially the undersides of them will help.
Beer. Put a saucer of beer down. Use cheap beer. :-)
I second the beer strategy.
But I am more worried about the mosquitoes. They are coming out very suddenly in droves.
Try sprinkling diatomaceous earth around your plants. You have to repeapply it after every rain, and the powdery white stuff isn't real attractive in your flower beds, but it works. Also, in the evening lay a board next to the beds that you have the biggest problems with, and the next day turn it over and pick off the slugs to destroy. Repeat as often as it takes to get all the slugs.
